State Conference 2024
The 2024 State Conference was held at RMIT’s Storey Hall from Friday 4 October to Saturday 5 October.
Our MC was Network President, Annie Grigg, who was joined by keynote speaker, Dr Norman Swan, and seven special guests. Several breakout sessions were held across the two days that covered the topics of:
- Technology and older people – including sessions on the role of social media, artificial intelligence, and information on the Member Wizard member management system
- Classes and activities – content, developing tutors and courses, and topics like art, languages, science, and writing
- Governance – topics like managing U3A finances, the role of planning, and working with local government authorities
- Communications – attracting volunteers, communicating with current and potential members
- Exercise – myths and goals
