Day 1 - Friday 4 October

8.30am - Conference Registration - Auditorium Lobby
Conference Expo commences.

9.00am - President’s Welcome - U3A Network Victoria President - Anne Grigg.
Lucky name draw to be drawn.

9.15am - Plenary Speaker - Joanna Maxwell, Project Dir. Age Research AHRC - ‘What’s Age Got To Do With It?’

10.00am - Keynote Speaker - Dr Norman Swan, ABC - ‘The Ageing Myth and Myths about Ageing.’

10.45am - Morning tea break - coffee stations, book signing with Dr Norman Swan, conference expo in the Auditorium Lobby.

11.25am - Breakout groups 1

12.10pm - Plenary Speaker - Dr Rebecca Nisbet, The Florey - ‘Global Reseach - Dementia’

1.00pm - Lunch break - located in the lobby

1.35pm - Melbourne City Baths presents - light exercise in the Auditorium

13.50pm - Plenary Speaker - Rosemary Cameron, Royal Historical Society - ‘Attracting Volunteers’

2.35pm - Glen Wall, Chair of U3A Australia

2.50pm - Sage Travel gift voucher prize draw (all conference tickets purchased will go into the draw)

3.00pm - Breakout groups 2

5.00pm - Melbourne walking tours - optional

7.00pm - Conference Dinner - Green Brain Room, ticketed event. Dress is semi-formal.

10.00am - Plenary Speaker - Michael Cowling, Associate Professor at CQUniversity, Radio National’s “Professor Tech'“ - ‘Future Technology and the Third Age’

10.45am - Morning tea break - coffee stations are located in the lobby

11.10am - Breakout groups 4

12.00pm - Plenary Speaker - Ritesh Chugh, Associate Professor at CQUniversity - ‘Social Media Impacts on the Third Age’

1.00pm - Wrap Up
