THE DATASCAPES PROJECT: Ageing, CALD, and AI

We would like to introduce an exciting opportunity for people over 60 years of age from CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) communities, to participate in a groundbreaking research project called "Datascapes." This project, led by Michael Doneman, focuses on better ageing-in-place, enhanced teaching and learning, and exploring the potentials and challenges of artificial intelligence for elders. We think this is very important for people coming from culturally diverse communities. Michael’s background can be found at his LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeldoneman

In a nutshell, the Datascapes project is about:

* Better ageing-in-place (that is, better quality of life as we age in our homes, and in our social circle)

* Better teaching, learning, and social connectivity in a group (U3A)

* The threats and potentials of artificial intelligence for elders, especially in the context of the above points

* The strengths, resources, and advantages brought to AI and the new technologies by elders (as distinct from the idea of elders as fragile, declining and unproductive)

You don’t have to be any kind of expert, you don’t need training in IT or education. This process is open to everyone from a CALD background, not just U3A members.

Meetings take place online via Zoom. The first is On Tuesday 30th July, 5.00-6.30pm. If you’d like to hear more about the project (without obligation) please contact Shoukry Sidrak at shsidrak@hotmail.com or Michael Doneman at michael@edgeware.com.au

Please let other know who you think may be interested.
