U3A Movement in Victoria Recognised in the Victorian Disaster Resilience Awards
The U3A Movement in Victoria was Highly Commended
in the Victorian Disaster Resilience Awards!
On Monday, 4 October 2021, the Victorian Emergency Management Commissioner, Andrew Crisp, announced the Australian Disaster Resilience Awards in the Victorian Division. Our U3A Network nomination in the Community section was recognised with a 'Highly Commended' Award, for our efforts in working with the Seniors community throughout the COVID Pandemic. The judges were particularly impressed with our pivot of the movement to online and with offering digital services and education for the actively ageing.
The Award is a prestigious one and one that we can be proud of. It will now proceed on to National Award judging.
The Community winner was the Save the Children' organisation .. always a worthy winner! Other highly commended organisations were Youth Projects and the Australian Islamic Centre.
